MENTOR New York

Role: Copywriting | Design
Type: Social Media (Video)

How do you grab the attention of busy pros on LinkedIn? Start with a question they can’t scroll by.

To promote MENTOR New York’s Change Makers Fellowship, I created a short video with a strong, simple hook and copy that highlighted the program's unique value. Carefully chosen visuals helped potential fellows see themselves in the program, while a clean, list-style format made the content easy to absorb.

I paired the caption with optimized hashtags to reach the right audience—sparking new sign-ups and expanding MENTOR New York’s audience on the platform.

MENTOR New York

Role: Content Strategy | Copywriting | SEO | Web Design
Type: Website

MENTOR New York needed a website that worked as hard as they do. The goal: a streamlined, user-friendly experience that clearly communicated their mission and impact to parents, youth workers, volunteers, and donors alike. Challenge accepted!

I rewrote key pages with accessible messaging and SEO in mind, restructured the navigation to help users find what they need faster, and reworked the design to feel smoother and more intuitive. This included adding white space and softening the color palette for improved readability—using lighter, brand-rooted tones while reserving bold colors for calls to action.

Staying true to MENTOR National’s branding, I focused on the details that enhance both usability and performance: optimizing image sizes to reduce load times; adding in-page anchors to help users navigate long pages quickly; placing clear, consistent calls to action to guide next steps; improving accessibility with alt text; and strengthening SEO by updating metadata, building internal links, and targeting high-intent keywords (e.g., "find a mentor").

One year later? A 48% increase in organic traffic—and a site that makes it easier than ever for visitors to take action.

Big Brothers Big Sisters X Compeer Buffalo

Role: Content Strategy | Copywriting | Graphic Design
Type: Social Media

When Big Brothers Big Sisters and Compeer Buffalo teamed up to recruit new mentors, they wanted a campaign that would unite their voices, raise awareness of New York’s growing mentorship gap, and inspire first-time volunteers to get involved. I stepped in to develop the social strategy and content, launching the campaign with an introductory webinar.

To bring both brands together, I blended their signature colors and fonts for a fresh yet cohesive look. Real mentor-mentee images made the campaign feel authentic, while clear calls-to-action and approachable messaging worked to boost engagement. Relevant hashtags and a thoughtful rollout helped extend the campaign’s reach beyond existing audiences.

Throughout the campaign, I worked closely with both organizations to ensure consistent messaging and branding during cross-promotion. The result? A surge in webinar sign-ups, increased visibility for both nonprofits, and meaningful conversations around the need for more youth mentors in New York.

The Old Bailey Gallery

Role: Graphic Design
Type: Flyer | Social Media

For the FENCES exhibition at The Old Bailey Gallery, I created flyers and social media assets showcasing the work of artists Leah Thornton and Ashley Wingo. The task was to reflect their distinct styles while crafting a unified visual identity for the show.

I kept the design bold and contemporary, with clean typography, playful framing, and a color palette pulled directly from the artwork.

The exhibition’s theme—celebrating the mundane—came through in imagery like plastic bags and tennis balls, echoing the artists’ mission to transform everyday objects into something special.

NextStep

Role: Copywriting
Type: Blog

NextStep asked me to write a blog post to attract Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and I knew I had to strike the right balance between informative and inspirational. The goal was to make the CNA role feel accessible to anyone new to caregiving or considering a career shift, while also inspiring them to explore NextStep’s training opportunities.

I crafted a tone that was warm and motivating, structuring the content with clear subheadings and bite-sized sections for easy skimming. To make the post more relatable, I interviewed NextStep graduates and caregivers, including their insights into the most rewarding aspects of the job.

The blog was widely shared and achieved high click-through rates, successfully converting new visitors into candidates for NextStep’s program.
